Another day off...

This time it was just me for senior assessment day.

So I tried to take advantage of the free day...

I wrote 3 book reviews for children's lit.

It took Jordan in for a check up.

And I FINALLY finished a gift I have owed my niece since September.

I wanted to make her a wedding gift. So I decided to make her something to hang up in her house. Sounds easy huh? Well no it's not been easy. I have started this project many times and I keep putting it away for another day. This thing has been weighing on me. I've got to get it done! She's been married for 5 months. It's almost embarrassing to send this thing but... I put WAY too much sweat into this thing not to send it. It was so weird... I was getting ready this morning... more specifically getting in the shower. I have no idea what is up with the shower but I do my best thinking in there. Anyway this idea came to me and I went with it. Now when you see this thing you are going to wonder what the heck was so hard about that. I have no idea myself. I just couldn't come up with an idea. And I bet I went through 10 sheets of paper to make it. I would start something and rip it off and do something else. But I do think it turned out cute. So I'm getting this puppy in the mail tomorrow!

It was a basketball weekend!

Hannah had a basketball game Friday night, Saturday morning and afternoon and night.
Makayla had practice then they played the first game of districts last night. It was exciting. They won! So were are on to Tuesday night.
I am official tired of winter! I'm tired of the ice! So I took one more picture of ice that is on the trees. I hope that is the last of it! It's wet and soggy and nasty! I'm ready for some sunshine!

We also finally had Makayla's birthday dinner on Saturday for lunch. She wanted lasagna. Yummy!

And I even slipped in some scrapbook time. I just decided to copy some ideas and get the juices flowing. I'm still thinking that the juices may not exist anymore but I'm ok with coping for right now.

And we got some driving time in. Makayla just think you get in the car and head out. But she scares me to death! So we are practicing in parking lots and taking short trips on the street. I'm still thinking that if you don't have to be out and about when she is driving I would stay home for now....

ice day creations...

An ice day may be good for the creativity. The first page I actually started on my mental health day... Sunday. I didn't get very far. The next one is a flat out copy of Kendra McCracken from Elsie's book. I didn't realize until today that I had not made any pages this month until today. I'm hoping this is not a trend!

another ice day and lots of pictures....

Hannah's mouse trap car....

Gerti doesn't like it when dad sets in her chair...

She thought maybe a kiss would make him move... it didn't work.

Just caught Jordan looking cute. I don't seem to get very many pictures of him lately.

Makayla wanted a cookie cake. We still haven't had her family birthday. That's on Saturday...

An ice day is a good day to go to the DMV and get a permit! It took 2 tests and I won't let her forget it!

Pray for ME!!!!!!!!

Ice, Ice go away...

thanks for the snow day!

I was beside myself with joy as I went back the sleep at 6:45am because we had a snow day. It was some weird ice thing going on too. Lightning and thunder but it was ice. It has been such a weird winter. This is the 2nd thunder storm in about a week. So I did homework most of the day. I made the kids do some house work. They were ready to hotline me for being such a mean mom. I mean emptying the dish washer and putting away a couple loads of laundry is child abuse right?

I don't really have any pictures to post. But my friends Andrea think I should take a break from homework and tell you something about myself. HA! I'm pretty sure you all get enough of that but here we go...

1. Name your two favorite scrapbooking topics: My kids and my family

2. Where are the two best places you’ve been to? New York City- I wish I could go back in time and go back to the time when I didn’t have kids… I would love to move there and live for awhile. Destin was pretty awesome. But Disney is the happiest place on Earth.

3. Name two things you do every day: Brush my teeth and eat.

4. Tell us two things that pretty much everyone knows about you: Hummm I don’t have too many secrets. I guess I talk too much and I have kids. That’s a stupid answer. I don’t have anything better though.

5. Tell us two things that everyone DOESN’T know about you: ugggghhhh! I don’t know. If you don’t know it yet it’s probably because I don’t want you to know. Well… lets see… I would love to travel. I wish I didn’t have a house and I could just come and go whenever I want. I don’t really like responsibilities.

6. Tell us two things that got you into the hobby of scrapping: I’ve always like crafty things and my piles and piles of pictures.

7. Tell us two things that you want to accomplish in the next six months: Get through this semester and start my Jr block in the fall. And loss some weight. I won’t even put a number on that. Anything would be nice.

8. Name your two favorite scrapping tools: ink pads and PAPER! and buttons…and a good black pen. Can you really just have 2 favorite tools?

9. Name your two favorite sources of scrapping inspiration: blogs hands down. I don’t hardly look anyway else.

10. How has your scrapping changed since you started? Heheheheh DUH No more white, no more stickers.

11. What scrapbooking project have you yet to try but would love to? The little scallop mini albums come to mind. I don’t know.

Ok now I tag Christina who will have to email me the answers, Jenn, and Chrissy... maybe they will update their blogs:)

Is it wrong.....

to love Friday's so much?I remember when I was in school, as a kids there was nothing better than 2:52 on Friday which was about 2 minutes after the bell rang. I felt like I could really start living. Like all week I were standing in the longest line and at 2:52 I was finally at the end of the line. The only thing that made 2:52 better was when you walked out the door and the sun was shining. As an adult I have not really had the same feeling about a Friday... until today. I forgot what Friday's felt like. When we had the stores we were actually busier on the weekends. There really wasn't a Saturday like a lay-in-front-of-the-cartoons-all-morning-Saturday. So when I had that feeling today I was caught off guard. Why today? Because I've had a really long week? I'm not sure. But I LOVE the feeling of Friday.

This is a picture of the laundry situation on Monday. Last weekend we had 2 volleyball tournaments and 2 basketball tournaments. Those are all uniforms that have to be hung up to dry. I thought it might be fun to look back on someday. I've not really keep up with the 365 pictures. Shocking I know! But I am making an effort to take picture of everyday life that will some day not be part of every day life anymore.

If I had know how easy babies were to take care of I would have enjoyed it more. I wouldn't have complained about changing diapers so much if I had know how hard it is to raise teenagers. So I'm trying VERY hard to enjoy today. I'm sure that each step from here on out is going to be hard. I want to remember all the laundry I had to do (20 loads a week by the way!), all the beds I've made, and all the food I've cooked. I am making an effort to capture it before it's all over. I only have Makayla at home for 3 more years. That's just a moment and I don't want to forget any of it. So... I'm sure I'll have some more dorky pictures to show you as we go. Just remember that I'm trying not to forget!

Makayla has her last JV game tonight. Can you believe that her 9th grade JV season is over. I am so sad today! Time is going WAY too fast. Then she have a varsity bball tournament tomorrow and a vball tournament Sat and Sun. Hannah has a bball tournament all weekend too. So my rear will be shaped like a bleacher again on Sunday night:)

Where are you all coming from?

I have got to know...
How did you find this blog? I am using the feedjit thing at the bottom and it shows me where people are coming from. Who do I know in Japan? Washington? I just up dated the blog and 5 people checking in about 5 minutes. Just curious how you found the blog... leave me a message and let me know... it so weird how small the world is now....

Just some pictures....

I just have some pictures to share... these are from the Winter Banquet on Saturday. The other girls are Kaylee and Hannah. They are on Makayla's vball team. The date is Zach. Makayla and Hannah asked Zach to take them to the dinner. Everyone looked so cute. I can't believe that I have a daughter who is old enough to go to events like these and look like THAT. Where did time go? Hannah is holding Kaylee's new niece Haidyn. Isn't she so cute. I haven't really had a chance to hold her since I've been sick. But as soon as I feel good she is all mine! The last 2 pictures are Kaylee's birthday party. They decided to TP Zach's house and they did and pretty good job. I DO NOT ever want to have to clean up a mess like that!

A very LONNNNNGGGGG weekend!

The kids had a snow day Friday. I had to go to school:( I finally went to the Dr on Fri. I figured 4 weeks of being sick is long enough. She suggested I go to bed for the weekend. HA! I didn't have the heart to tell her that wasn't going to happen. I can't let a sinus infection, ear infection and tonsillitus stop me! So Sat Hannah had a volleyball tournament in Springfield. We were on the road by 5:45 am. I do not think anything before 8am should exist! Hannah team is really struggling. I think their attitudes are holding them back. We were back on the road by 4pm to come back and see Makayla before she left for Winter Banquet. I'll have picture later. Leland took the pictures off my camera card and hasn't given me a CD yet. We were back on our way to Springfield at 6:45am Sun morning for a volleyball tournament for Makayla. Leland took Hannah to a basketball game on Sun and then headed to Tulsa for a birthday party for his dad. We all meet back at home to crash at about 9 last night. Needless to say I don't feel like I got much rest this weekend and I don't feel any better either. Bummer! I'm thinking about a nap right now. I'll let you know which wins homework or sleep.

By the way... snow day on Friday and today it's about 76 degrees. It is no wonder I am sick!
